COLLEGE STATION, Texas— Grapevine’s high school tennis team defeated Texas High tennis team 11-0 in the Conference 5A semifinals round of the state championship at Texas A&M in College Station.
In boys singles Miha Valencic from Grapvine defeated Hutch Tidwell of Texas High, 6-1, 6-0. Tine Valencic defeated Rommel of Texas High, 6-1, 6-0.
In girls singles Kali Hamilton (Grapvine) defeated Tizah Bailey, 6-0, 6-0 and Samathana Wong (Grapvine) defeated Braulee Hagan, 6-0, 6-0.
In boys doubles Alex Joseph and Alex Kubo (Grapvine) defeated Carson Rommel and Hutch Tidwell, 6-3, 6-1.
Taner Putnam and Valencic (Grapvine) defeated Cullen Schoe and Zack Moore, 6-2, 6-3. Joyce Kamdem and Kamdem (Grapvine) and Kevin Kamdem defeated John Norton and Rommel, 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (3).
In girls doubles Reilly Cleff and Wong (Grapevine) defeated Ali Ritcher and Aubrey Cramer, 6-0, 6-3. Bella Bergman and Raillane Kamdem (Grapevine) defeated Elizabeth Sanders and Sarah Rogers, 6-1, 6-1. Hamilton and Reilly Cornell (Grapevine) defeated Bailey and Hagan, 6-4, 6-2.
In mixed doubles Miha Valencic and Madison Cleff (Grapvine) defeated Kevin Jefferson and Gracie Morehead.
